Why did my spring break and not the opener? Torsion springs are rated for a set number of open-close cycles, and on a house built in the 1960s or 70s, that spring may be original or close to it. The motor usually outlasts the spring by a wide margin, which is why replacement openers show up less often than replacement springs.

Is it worth fixing an old door or replacing it? Depends on what's wrong. A bent track or worn rollers on an otherwise solid door is a repair. A door with rotted panels or hardware that's been patched multiple times is usually cheaper to replace outright - we'll tell you which one you're looking at.

Do you work on all opener brands? Most, yes. Older units from homes built decades back sometimes use parts that are harder to source, so a repair on those can take longer than a same-day fix on newer equipment.
